Join more than 500 other parents and guardians on Saturday, 4/16 for WCCUSD’s 10th Annual Parents as Partners & Leaders Conference at Lovonya Dejean Middle from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Complete with guest speakers, childcare, translation, breakfast, snacks, and a community resource fair, this conference features workshops and trainings that will empower YOU to support your child’s success.

Keynote Speaker
Barbara Logan Smith is the conference’s key note speaker. With 19 years of dedicated service to capacity building among business executives, administrative leaders, educators, college students, and K-12 children nationwide, Barbara is currently completing her PhD in Education and Leadership at Cardinal Stritch University. As the Director of Teach for America — Mississippi, she is passionate about preparing community members and students to serve as change agents in their schools.
Workshops

From workshops on unique learning styles, language development, and special education to financial tips, sex education and stress-free living, you’ll have a wide range of learning opportunities to draw from.
Workshops will be led by district staff and various community partners, including Sparkpoint, Mindful Life, Contra Costa Community College, Building Blocks for Kids, Tandem, Bay Area Peacekeepers, and The Efficacy Institute.
Community Resource Fair
After the workshops, the conference includes a Community Resources Fair where families can learn about and access some of the resources and services available in our community. During the fair, there will also be drawings for raffle prizes.
