Tis the season to apply for financial aid!
GO West Contra Costa and The Richmond Promise have teamed up once again to release an updated version of A Parent’s Guide to Financial Aid, a resource that provides in-depth information about how to help pay for college using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the California Dream Act Application (CADAA).
“Applying for financial aid is a crucial aspect of the college-going pathway, and it is also one of the biggest obstacles for families,” shared Miguel Molina, Associate Director of Programs at The Richmond Promise. “There’s a lack of readily accessible information for families but A Parent’s Guide to Financial Aid will help bridge that gap.”
This year’s guide also includes updates about new legislation impacting financial aid eligibility, more information about Cal Grants—California’s largest state-administered financial aid program, and a new tool to help families have early and honest conversations about the cost of college.
A Parent’s Guide to Financial Aid is available for download in English and Spanish.
GO West Contra Costa and The Richmond Promise are hosting a virtual financial aid information session for families on Wednesday, November 10th at 6pm. To access this session, visit GO West Contra Costa’s Instagram page or The Richmond Promise’s Instagram page.
