Complete college financial aid applications with help from new family guide
A new California law now requires all 12th grade students to complete a financial aid application – either the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act Application (CADAA) – or formally opt out.
To help families take this critical step toward affordability, GO West Contra Costa and Richmond Promise have partnered for the third year in a row to release A Parent’s Guide to Financial Aid. The guide offers a comprehensive overview of financial aid, the FAFSA and CADAA, and features a new scholarship resource section. A Parent’s Guide to Financial Aid is available for download in English and Spanish.
“This year it is very important for families to help their children complete either the FAFSA or CADAA,” shared Miguel Molina, Associate Director of Programs for Richmond Promise. “California is taking a big step to ensure that our students attain a college education and it is now more important than ever for our parents to be informed about the financial aid process.”
Students should plan to complete either the FAFSA or CADAA by the March 2nd, 2023 priority deadline.
