  1. What gives you excitement?
    • I get excited when I see parents stand up for their children. I get so much excitement when parents advocate for the first time and it inspires them to continue to do advocacy for their community.
  2. What keeps you up at night?
    • Figuring out what it takes for the district to truly value families. Parent leaders want more accountability on budgets, school resources and student achievement. The district does not want parents to be at the center of decision making.
  3. What gives you hope?
    • People power. Parents have the ability to come together to interrupt the current dynamics that are not serving children or families.
  4. If you could wave your magic wand, what is the first thing you would change or add?
    • It would make it so that our school board is not made up of politicians or unionized interest, but actual parents who are about black and brown children. This ideal board would also heavily resource a Black and Brown parent coalition that is united. Black and Brown families advocating for and with each other.
