  1. What gives you excitement?
    • Getting together with my friends for coffee and / or going for a walk in our local parks.
  2. What keeps you up at night?
    • So many things keep me up at night. Mostly worried that our world isn’t a healthy or safe place sometimes.
  3. What gives you hope?
    • In my work with preschoolers and at home with my kids, I see and hear that the future will come and its a beautiful one.
  4. If you could wave your magic wand, what is the first thing you would change or add?
    • I would add trees everywhere.
  5. More about Erika’s journey
    • Once my daughter began kindergarten I knew I wanted to support her education as well as her school. At the time I thought volunteering in her classroom was going to be it. I quickly realized I wanted to do more but what or how was unclear. I decided to joined the Parents as Leaders program. This series of mini workshops helped me understand the inner workings of WCCUSD. The leadership program really helped me focus my passion to add that little grain of sand to make the world a better place. In addition GO has opened the door to advocacy and given me the support to keep going. Its not an easy road, but its nice to know you have people on your side to guide, teach and to support you. Currently, I am on the CLC, working together with other Community Advocates and GO Public Schools advocates.
